Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and in a stunning display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the most decorated winner. The standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the esteemed Top Game award, along with honors for Superb Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Complementing the developer's success, the gifted performers also were honored with personal awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Studio of the Year. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team won 7 awards throughout the show.
Additional notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the audience, with only 4 special—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by critics.
