Aircraft Twirls Wildly into Palm Trees at Well-Known California Shoreline
A helicopter flying over a crowded California shoreline suddenly commenced twirling out of control, eventually losing altitude and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers observed.
Footage posted online depict the helicopter starting to spin over the beach then falling near the border of the shore, where it gets stuck amidst palms and a staircase close to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Update
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five individuals were taken to hospital including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” following the accident on the weekend.
Three people on the street were hurt. Information on their condition were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
