Aircraft Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield

An aircraft transporting the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the jet's front window, per an announcement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.

"The aircraft touched down in accordance with standard protocol and all passengers, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson stated in a online announcement.

He was traveling back from a short visit to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.

This event is not the first time that a American defense plane ferrying a senior official has suffered equipment failures.

Earlier this year, a American military jet carrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was forced to return to Washington DC after experiencing a mechanical fault.
